UNITY, PURKUTAIDE exhibition, summer of 2020. Entire apartment mural artwork. Art exhibition in an abandoned building in Kerava, 94 artist participating and over 30 000 visitors during 1.7-30.9.2020.
The name of the artwork is UNITY and pictures our connection to the universe. Separateness is an illusion and everything is interconnected. The atoms inside of us are made of stardust and we are a way for the universe to know itself. Space is inside us and we are space. The female shapes in the artwork represent the individual becoming one with the cosmos and finding an inner connection to the earth and its life forces.
The text on the window is a quote by astronomer Carl Sagan. Made with acrylic colours, spray paints and old recycled CDs.
